I’m William Horschak. My professional foundation is hospitality: running hotels in demanding destination markets, leading teams, and making decisions where service, staffing, room rates, and profitability meet every day.
That work taught me to ask what the numbers actually support. It is also how I approach public records, local government, and the tools we use to make information understandable.
This publication is where those interests meet—and where I leave room for sports, satire, and the subjects that don’t fit neatly into a professional biography.
What you’ll find here
Hospitality and revenue strategy. The decisions behind a hotel’s performance: demand, pricing, inventory, operations, and the people doing the work.
Public records and civic life. How to find information, read it carefully, and understand what it says about the institutions around us. I also founded and publish the Trempealeau Pioneer, covering local government, courts, and public records in western Wisconsin.
Civic technology and projects. Practical work on tools that help people access, organize, and understand public information.
Sports and commentary. I grew up between San Antonio and Wisconsin’s Coulee Region. The Spurs and Longhorns have a place here, along with the occasional argument best delivered as a mock court order.
A little more about me
My hospitality career has taken me through West Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Half Moon Bay, followed by regional and corporate revenue-management work. I’m now studying Legal Studies/Paralegal at Western Technical College, with law school in my sights. I’m not an attorney; nothing here is legal advice.
